I restored one in the mid 90's and found out it was a great engineering achievement as well as a great drivers car. Unfortunately I was young and sold it after doing some panel work with a Falcon.
I would love to own another one day so if anyone is thinking of selling I would love to hear from you

Comments: Hi there, I am a collector of older cars and bought the 1971 Honda 1300 Coupe about a year ago as it was the first one I ever saw. Unfortunately the engine was replaced by a water cooled Honda Ballad engine. I do not know how this car came to South Africa as they were never sold locally.
Comments: Hi there, Hi - nice site! I owned a yellow Coupe 7 in 1973-74 and did quite a few kms on it. Great car, but a pity about the fragile head. Mine cracked its head once while I had it and again later on. Lost track of the car about 1985. Mine looked unusual in that it had a series of horizontal black tape stripes on the C pillar. I mention this just in case a member knows anything about its history.

Comments: Hi,
I am a Honda nut for anything they have built on two or four wheels. Looks like a great car.
Comments: Hi to all, I am an avid lover of old school Japanese cars and love the look of the Honda 1300 and its a great site you have here...I am doing a restoration on a 1975 Mazda RX2 at the moment but love all Japanese oldtimers...Have a great day
Comments: I purchased a red Coupe 7 in Singapore 1971, and raced it and won 1300 Clubman class in a tropical downpour at the Singapore GP. Also raced and rallied it in Malaysia. Brought it back to New Zealand but later sold it.

Comments: G'day guys,
Just reminded me about driving a used Coupe 7 in 1974 when I was working for a car dealer that had one in the showroom. It was a silver one and I fell in love.
Unfortunately, as a broke uni student I couldn't afford it, but it started a love of Hondas. I test drove another Coupe 7 in 1980 but ended up buying a 1977 Accord instead that I drove for 15 years. Now we have a '03 Euro after a few company cars in between.

I recall a co worker owned this car and I had a Cortina 1600GT.
The 1300 Honda was incredible the engine was a dream so smooth and revvy
The ford felt like a truck engine when I drove it.
Well my past 3 cars recently all Hondas
Now a current Civic type R :
